About
After a Bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Geneva, Natalia completed a Master's in Bioinformatics focused on RNA stability and degradation in Staphylococcus aureus. She then moved into developmental neuroscience and completed her PhD in Denis Jabaudon's lab in November 2023. The main PhD project investigated why different regions of the mouse brain grow at different rates, focusing on how neocortical and hindbrain development differ. Natalia also collaborated on several projects on the temporal plasticity of apical progenitors and on how neurons acquire their identity during cortical development, mainly using birth-dating techniques and single-cell transcriptomics. During a short postdoc in the same lab, Natalia studied how piriform cortex neurons acquire their identity and mature, combining single-cell and spatial transcriptomics with morphological and electrophysiological characterisation.
